urgent fx 5600 go it

Urgent - FX 5600 - Go for it?

There's an FX 5600 brand new on ebay ending in 37 minutes. Should I go for it. It's got 256MB of DDR video RAM and it's AGP 4x/8x.

I'll probably go for it if there aren't any objections. That will settle all my questions right now if I win. The fill rate on the FX5600 is 1300 vs. the 1100 the FX5500 has. The FX5200 has 1000. "Travis King" wrote in message

I won the card. I have a brand new NVIDIA GeForce FX5600 AGP 2x/4x/8x 256MB DDR. I had to do the punk-ebay style where I bid in the last 35 seconds. I got outbid and with just a few seconds remaining, I came back and rebid and won. Total cost was $63.09. I would have paid that for an FX5500 off of newegg.com, so I probably made a deal of about $10 to $20. (And you can't find the FX5600 on newegg.com either.) "Travis King" wrote in message

Now the next step is to check nvidias website to find out if they have beta drivers that support Glass for your card on Windows Vista. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Ahh.. hold on there.... "Vista ready" doesn't actually mean the driver are out yet... I had to discover that hurdle myself!
I bought my card (GeForce 6200 128MB I think) and it didn't work, even though it said it was Vista ready. I'm just lucky they brought out drivers for it the week after... so just be careful :o)

I will (drum roll) as soon as I get my hands on the Vista public beta. I should get to at least play with the 'Aero' skin for my WindowBlinds now with the Aero Glass. Now all I have to do is wait... Wait for Vista and wait for my new video card. <Nicholas> wrote in message
